Jeanne Cyrenne

Jeanne Cyrenne (nee Entem) beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2018 surrounded by her loving husband and children.  She was born on the family farm on September 9, 1933 in Frenchville, SK. She was the daughter of François and Francine Entem. She attended school in the Frenchville area and one year of high school at the Ponteix Convent. She enjoyed teaching at two country schools. Fernand and Jeanne met at a dance in Cadillac and married two years later on November 11, 1953. Together they built their family home on the farm east of Ponteix. Jeanne was actively involved in the community and enjoyed camping and travelling. One of the highlights for Jeanne was when Fernand took her to France to visit relatives that she had never met. They also continued by train to Germany to visit a nephew. Another highlight was their trip to the Middle East, Jordan, Egypt, Israel and Rome. They also went to Hawaii and Costa Rica. Summers were spent travelling in their RV and at the cabin at Lac Pelletier. Their last big trip together was to Quebec City. Jeanne enjoyed being at home. She enjoyed visits from her family and friends. There was always coffee or tea available as well as food, lots of food. Jeanne enjoyed sewing; the sewing machine was often running late at night.  Jeanne was a member of the Association of the Sisters of Notre Dame and the CWL serving as president twice. Jeanne was predeceased by her first-born daughter Solange at 7 weeks old, as well as, her parents, six brothers, five sisters and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Fernand Cyrenne and their six children, Gerald Cyrenne, Solange Laverdiere (Guy), Monique Prud'homme (Denis), Joel Cyrenne (Nicky), Marc Cyrenne (Lesley) and Michel Cyrenne (Sacha). She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. We miss you Mom. The funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 from Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father Guy Amedee Ainemon officiating. The eulogy was read by Gerald Cyrenne, Solange Laverdiere, Joel Cyrenne, Marc Cyrenne and Michel Cyrenne, the urn bearer was Christine Killam, honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Jeanne's life, and ushers were Clint Cyrenne and Sheldon Cyrenne. The interment service took place in the Ponteix Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinsons Canada at Parkinson.ca or by phone 1-800-565-3000.
