Sister Suzanne Lupien

Lupien, Suzanne, 1924 – 2018, Sister Suzanne Lupien died peacefully at Foyer St-Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix on February 9th 2018. She was predeceased by her parents Dr. Onil and Irène Lupien, her brother Marcel and a sister Hélène. Sister Suzanne is lovingly remembered by her brother Dr. Paul Lupien and his wife, many nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Notre Dame with whom she lived for 65 years. Sr. Suzanne entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of Notre Dame d’Auvergne in 1953 and made her first vows in 1956 and her perpetual vows in 1961. Sister Suzanne was born in Ponteix, SK. and received her early education at the Notre Dame Convent in Ponteix. She graduated from a bilingual commercial course in Ponteix. From Toronto she obtained her A.T.C.M. in 1960. She taught piano in Ponteix, Ferland, Meyronne, Glentworth and Hazenmore. Sister Suzanne was of frail health and needed rest periods between piano lessons. She was appreciated and loved by all student. In the 1970’s and 1980’s she visited her family in Quebec accompanied by her sister Hélène. She retired in Ponteix in 1985. The Sisters of Notre Dame wish to thank the staff of Foyer St-Joseph in Ponteix for their compassionate and loving care of Sister Suzanne.  Sister Suzanne was a peaceful and loving presence wherever she was and she will be missed by the sisters of Notre Dame d’Auvergne and her family.  Funeral mass will be held at the Notre Dame d’Auvergne Church in Ponteix on February 13 at 2:00 pm.  Family and friends so wishing may make memorial donations to Foyer St-Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix.
